Kingston Road Village Concert Series 2025
1. Schmaltz and Pepper, February 9 at 2 pm.Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s marvellous principal clarinetist Eric Abramovitz along with an all-star cast: Rebekah Wolkstein, violin, voice Drew Jurecka, violin, bandoneon Jeremy Ledbetter, piano Michael Herring,bass. Marvel at their virtuosic display of Klezmer, Yiddish Tango and Original compositions.
2. Winter Bach returns: Side by Side Magnificat! Saturday, March 8, 7:30 pm sees the return of our side-by-side concerts, featuring Bach’s incredible Magnicat for large orchestra, vocal soloists and chorus. Kathleen Allan (conductor of the Amadeus Choir) will be conducting an orchestra comprised of members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, instrumentalists and singers from the University of Toronto and a full chorus comprised of professional and UofT choristers. Rounding out the programme will be Bach’s E major Violin Concerto, a CPE Bach Symphony, an additional choral work and some solo Bach. And you can join us in the annual audience chorale sing-along. We’ll post a link to the music soon, so you can practice (in German!).
3. Walking Through the Fire, The Sultans of String. Saturday, April 12 at 8 pm. From Métis fiddling to an East Coast Kitchen Party, rumba to rock, to the drumming of the Pacific Northwest, experience the beauty and diversity of music from Turtle Island with Elder and poet Dr. Duke Redbird, Alyssa Delbaere-Sawchuk of the Métis Fiddler Quartet, Ojibwe/Finnish Singer-Songwriter Marc Meriläinen (Nadjiwan), Coast Tsm’syen Singer- Songwriter Shannon Thunderbird and The North Soundfrom the Prairies -- PLUS virtual guests joining in on the big screen including the Northern Cree pow wow group, Inuit Throat Singers Kendra Tagoona & Tracy Sarazin, and more! ..
