The O'Pears -- Sunday, May 14th, 1:30pm (MOTHER'S DAY!)

Unfortunately, the O'Pears were delayed in their return from their European tour. We have rescheduled this concert from April 23rd to May 14th. We are still doing the community lunch. Who wants to queue up with tonnes of people on Mother's Day? You can have a beautiful box lunch prepared by the Beaches Bakeshop, an art exhibit by Karen Leslie Hall, and a wonderful concert instead!

The O’Pears are a Toronto-based contemporary folk trio made up of Lydia Persaud, Jill Harris and Meg Contini, three songwriters who weave stories that stir the spirit and capture the timeless character of folk music. Live performances turn the loudest venue into the warmest house concert, with their endearing, unabashed personalities balancing the intimate sincerity of the songs. A striking mix of tight a cappella and rootsy instrumentation, their music explores lessons learned about love and loss through the eyes and hearts of young Canadian storytellers. The O’Pears continue to bring a strong, honest voice to the modern female perspective. Tickets are $20, children under 12 years old free. This event is a fundraiser for Kingston Road United Church for needed maintenance and repairs.

To celebrate our pear theme, we have a special guest, visual artist Karen Leslie Hall! Karen is a Beach resident specializing in many different styles, who has an impressive collection of pear paintings! An exhibit of her artwork will be shown before and after the O'Pears show.

We will be providing a box lunch at 12:00 that celebrates all things 'pear'! Included will be a gourmet sandwich, small salad, dessert, and your choice of beverage. Join members of the Beach community for a tasty lunch and mingling before the concert for a wonderful afternoon of food, friendship, and music! Box lunch $15.
