Music is a vital component of our worship at KRU. We are very fortunate to have a professional musician of Eric MacKeracher's stature to lead both the junior and senior choirs. Music is literally Eric's life - he sings professionally with the world-renowned Elmer Iseler Singers and the Amadeus Choir, he teaches organ, piano and voice and also finds time to lead our congregation in music each Sunday.
The Senior Choir sometimes take part in special musical presentations or concerts - both within our church community and with other churches. Our choir leads worship at KRU once a year, presents a special concert on Christmas Eve, not to mention our popular Messiah Sunday!
We also have a wonderful junior choir, with members ranging in age between 4 and 13 years. In addition to these choirs, we are very fortunate to have a band of talented musicians that perform on special occasions.
Rehearsals for the senior choir are on Thursday evenings between 7:30 and 9:30 in Mitchell Hall and again on Sunday mornings at 10:00. No experience necessary - just a love of singing!
Rehearsals for the junior choir take place each Sunday morning at 9:45 in the Sanctuary (9:30 during the busy advent season) and they usually perform about once a month in the worship service. Again, no experience necessary!
